Scenic 7-8 hour drive via the Trishuli River. Complete border formalities at Rasuwagadhi/Kerung and meet your Tibetan guide and driver
A full day to rest and adapt to the altitude. Take light walks to explore the Tibetan border town of Kerung
A very long but scenic day (6-7 hours). You’ll drive through the wild landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau, seeing the mighty Brahmaputra River (Yarlung Tsangpo)
5-6 hour drive crossing the stunning Dongpa Pass. You’ll get your first breathtaking view of both Mt. Kailash and the sacred Lake Manasarovar
A sacred day for a holy dip or bath in the lake’s pristine waters. Drive a full Parikrama (circumambulation) around the 110km lake. Perform Puja and meditation
A short 2-3 hour drive in the morning to Darchen, the small base town for the Mt. Kailash Kora, to prepare for the trek
Short drive to Yama Dwar (Gateway of Death) to start the Kora. 12 km trek (5-6 hrs) to Dirapuk Monastery, where you’ll have an up-close view of Mount Kailash’s sacred North Face
The most challenging day. An 18-22 km trek (9-14 hrs) begins before dawn, ascending steeply to the Dolma La Pass (5,630m). The descent passes the sacred Gauri Kund
Trek 7-13 km (3-5 hrs) to Darchen, completing the 52 km circuit. Drive back to the familiar town of Saga
A long return drive to the Tibet-Nepal border town of Kerung
Cross back into Nepal in the morning and Drive to Kathmandu. Rest Day.
